Year 4 Poems


Over the week which marked the centenary of Remembrance, Year 4 explored war poetry from the First World War which culminated in each child writing their own poems.

The Reading Challenge


During the last academic year the school ran a "Reading Challenge" and awarded certificates and badges to children who read at home specified numbers of times. Kieran Ewing, who was then in year 5 was awarded the first certificate of the academic year.

Scarecrow appears in the library

One day during the week before last a scarecrow appeared in the library outside the Elearn-Eteach room.

Revamping the Weekly Newsletter

Is it time for a change? That was the question our Receptionist Mrs Ali Sweetman posed to Governors, The Deputy Headteacher , parents and children at a meeting on Wednesday 12th March.

Fairthorne Manor 2014

Challenging Your Children

 
Mrs Blake works with a group of Headteachers who are interested in challenging children at the highest level.

Year 6 trip to Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

On 6th March 2014 the whole of year six went on a school trip to the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens centre near Romsey. 

Fairtrade Friday

On Friday 7th March, Year Six organised a cafe called Fairtrade Friday to conclude the ending of Fairtrade fortnight.
